POSTCARDS FROM THE FUTURE

Library of Artificial Intelligence Authors

By Oscar Salguero and Viraj Joshi

Do electric sheep dream of electric sheep?

In a world where machines can write narratively coherent content, backed by the knowledge of every book ever written, will AI-authored text become imperceptible from human-authored text?

For a generation accustomed to auto-complete, bots and predictive text, perhaps the distinction won’t matter. Would we get poignant sequels to books written by authors long passed, or absurd ramblings dreamt by machines trying to be more human?

What might be the value of human creativity when machines can create too?
