POSTCARDS FROM THE FUTURE

Tangible Memory Archives

By Marika Jasmine Grasso, and Viraj Joshi

We live in a time when all our memories are visually archived in the cloud, stored behind the phone screen, but far from our touch.

Should the intimate, precious moments be hidden away from the digital world, secretly placed in a temple of personal remembrance, with the objects that were testimony of those instants? The secret narrative will be only activated by touch, only by the owner hand, to be shared with the few.

A space where humanity keeps in touch with special moments by touch, the object will capture the emotions and feelings that neither language, or visuals can express, to recall the complexity of sensation that only embodiment can call.

Will memories be safe from the hyper-visual world in the haptic archive?
